European Union Kosovo Justice Sector Programme – EUKOJUST Project, is an EU funded project implemented by a consortium composed of the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ) as Lead Partner, and its junior partners the Dutch Center for International Legal Cooperation (CILC), and the Ministry of Justice of Croatia (MoJ Croatia). IRZ is mandated by the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection.
The overall objective of the EUKOJUST Project is to reform the justice system in line with European and international standards.
The project’s approach is need-oriented and shall serve Kosovo’s justice sector and its citizens. It will build on the results of previous projects, and it is expected to have a positive impact on the justice sector in Kosovo. With comprehensive, consolidated legislation, in line with European standards, and strengthened capacities with fully functional, citizen oriented infrastructure, the quality of justice will be improved, thus offering better protection of rights and public interests. This will in turn contribute to public trust and increased confidence in the system.
The project duration is 40 months.
The Specific objectives of EUKOJUST
All of these four specific objectives are interlinked. The specific objectives outlined above are each divided in the expected results. The results will be met by using a result-oriented approach and the implementation of a number of activities with participatory approach. There will be activities to support the beneficiaries in reviewing and reforming regulations or legislation, or in developing strategic documents, through expert support, opinions, workshops and (round-table) discussions.
